Crash on 287 Sends One to Hospital

A crash that occurred last Thursday, April 25, 2013, sent one woman to the hospital. At about 8:15 A.M., a woman driving a Toyota was stuck from behind while traveling southbound on Highway 287. First responders with the Wichita Falls Fire Department were on the scene immediately. The driver of the Toyota was pinned in the vehicle. Firefighters had to use the Jaws of Life to get her free. The identity of the victim has not been released. In addition, no information has been reported about the driver of the other automobile. The Times Record News did report that at least two vehicles were involved in the crash. There is no word yet on why the unidentified driver rear-ended the woman in the Toyota. Law enforcement officials have not released any details about the cause of the wreck either. Could distracted driving have been a factor? Was the unidentified driver following too closely?
