A late night crash left one man dead and sent two people to the hospital. The wreck happened on the 300 block of Loop 11 near the Texoma Christian Care Center. This appears to be a one-vehicle wreck. The driver was ejected from the automobile, and he was later pronounced dead. The deceased, David Anthony Brasket, 25-years-old, was driving a blue Ford Explorer. News Channel Six reported that the sport utility vehicle hit a curb and rolled several times. The two passengers in the SUV were transported to the United Regional Emergency Room for treatment of their injuries. There is no word on their current conditions, but their injuries were originally listed as non-life threatening. No details have been released on why Brasket hit the curb.
The crash occurred around 10:50 p.m. on Thursday night. The injured passengers were found outside of the vehicle as well. Noe Lopez and Rose Marie Luera were immediately transported to the hospital. The Times Record News reports that this crash is still under investigation by the Wichita Falls Police Department’s crash unit. They also reported that Brasket’s body was sent to the Medical Examiner in Tarrant County for an autopsy. Authorities have not yet released any information on whether or not alcohol was a factor in this crash. Toxicology tests will likely give investigative officials a better picture of how this tragic crash happened.
It’s not uncommon for alcohol to be a factor in late night, one-vehicle crashes. It may be too soon for law enforcement officials to know if either drugs or alcohol were involved in last night’s crash. Officials with the Wichita Falls Police Department are likely investigating the whereabouts of the driver prior to the crash. Was he visiting local bars or clubs? Since it is still under investigation, officials have released very few details regarding this wreck. Earlier this year, an Iowa Park Man was charged with intoxication manslaughter for a high-speed crash that took the life of a 22 year old.
