A fire at a local apartment complex destroyed at least 12 units. The fire started Monday morning at the Woodlands apartment complex on Midwestern Parkway. This three-alarm fire had at least 21 fire and police units called out to the scene. The fire spread through the attic of the building. Firefighters initially attempted to attack the flames from inside of the building. Chief Earl Foster, with the Wichita Falls Fire Department, stated that they had to abandon the interior attack on the flames after the roof began to collapse. At that point, they began to fight the fire from outside of the building. Firefighters from Sheppard Air Force Base brought out a tinder truck which holds up to 4,000 gallons of water. The fire was finally extinguished after an hour and a half of teamwork from various local agencies.
