Ford recalls Five Hundred, Mercury Montego sedans

Ford is recalling 2007 Ford Five Hundred and Mercury Montego sedans to repair a fuel tank that could leak in a crash.

The nearly 3,000 sedans may have bad welds where the fuel filler neck meets the fuel tank, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website, and in a severe rear impact, the bad weld could fail and cause a fire. If you own one of these vehicles you should be recieving a letter from Ford. In either case, contact your Ford dealer for repairs under this recall.
