Pedestrian Crashes in Texoma

The victim in this particular crash, Thompson Lee Asbury, was shot multiple times over a decade ago. As a result of those injuries, he is permanently disabled. Very little information has been released about this wreck, which is likely still under investigation. Police officers are asking anybody with information about the hit-and-run crash to come forward. Witnesses or anybody with information about the driver can call Crime Stoppers at 322-9888. Last week, we reported on the seven-year-old Texoma girl who was fatally struck by a semi truck. The little girl and her sister were crossing 287 when she was hit by the big rig.

Hit-and-Run Crashes

Hit-and-run crashes are always shocking, but especially when they occur at night, when it might take additional time for emergency crews to reach a victim. In many cases, a few minutes could mean the difference between life and death for a victim. If a driver strikes a person and leaves the scene of the crime, the victim, who could be unconscious, will have to wait for help to arrive.

Staying Abreast of Official Investigations

Crashes involving drivers who flee the scene are often incredibly complicated. Obviously, there is nobody to exchange insurance information with. Even if you have full coverage, getting compensated for your injuries and the damages is going to be difficult at best. Insurance companies are frequently looking out for their own bottom line. Rarely, are even well-insured victims in ‘good hands’ after a wreck. You should definitely speak with an attorney if you’ve been injured in an accident. You might think that because you aren’t dealing with another person’s insurance company, you don’t need legal help. Nothing is further from the truth. An experienced personal injury lawyer can stay on top of official investigations and make sure you get the compensation you deserve for your injuries.
