Three teenagers were injured in a one-car crash near Durant, Oklahoma. The wreck occurred early Wednesday morning in Bryan County. The driver was 14 years old, and both passengers were 13 years old. The crash happened at about 1:00 a.m., two miles east of Durant on a county road. Authorities with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol state that the driver crashed into a tree after hitting a bump and driving off of the main road.
The 14-year-old driver was originally taken to the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. She has since been flown to a children’s hospital in Dallas for treatment of a head injury. Her condition has been listed as stable. A 13-year-old female passenger is still in critical condition in Dallas. The other passenger, a 13-year-old boy, is listed in fair condition at a hospital in Durant. Law enforcement authorities haven’t released the names of those involved in this crash. According to the Durant Daily Democrat, Trooper Robby Keeling listed driver ability and unsafe speed in his report. They also reported that alcohol may have been involved.
