On Tuesday, Wichita Falls Traffic Superintendent Mark Beauchamp was attacked by a dog during a walk with his family. According to KFDX News Channel Three, Beauchamp, his wife and their dog, a Golden Retriever named Grace, were out for a stroll when a neighborhood dog escaped its yard and attacked them. Initially, the gray and white Australian Shepherd went for Beauchamp’s wife and dog. In trying to protect them, the dog attacked him and bit hit leg multiple times. Finally, the dog was called off by its owner.
Wichita Falls Dog Attack
Beauchamp recounted his experience for KFDX News Channel Three and said that once the dog had turned on him, he was mostly focused on trying to keep the dog away and not fall to the ground during the attack. This attack happened just before Beauchamp’s upcoming walking safety class at Jefferson Elementary. Unfortunately, the talk will have to be rescheduled as he recovers from his injuries. Beauchamp and his wife are thankful that the attack was not worse, and did not happen to one of the many elderly residents in their neighborhood. Making the most out of a bad situation, Beauchamp plans on using this dog attack as a teaching experience for future safety training classes.
